Description

Wedge Travel Mosquito Net — Double (Permethrin Treated)

Our largest wedge-shaped travel net — roomy enough for two people and generous enough to cover a queen mattress. The wedge shape and single-point suspension let you hang it almost anywhere: from a wall, a door or window frame, or the ceiling. It packs into its stuff bag, sets up in seconds with the included cord and pre-attached hook, and the fine, high-ventilation mesh keeps you protected while you sleep.

This is the treated version, supplied pre-treated with permethrin by the manufacturer.

Features

  • Our largest wedge net — extra roomy, comfortable for two, and adjustable to most situations.
  • Wedge shape hangs from a wall, door frame, window frame or ceiling — one-point suspension.
  • Fibreglass spreader bar holds the shape; includes hanging cord with pre-attached hook.
  • Fine, high-ventilation white mesh, 156 holes per square inch, 40D (it's white because dark colours attract mosquitoes).
  • Double-reinforced stitching on all seams.
  • 12cm reinforced hem to tuck under the mattress, plus pegging eyelets.
  • Supplied pre-treated with permethrin — odourless, and nothing for you to apply.

Size & weight

Fits mattresses/beds up to 220cm(W) × 220cm(L), including a queen mattress; net height 214cm; 62cm fibreglass spreader bar; about 450g; packs to 11cm diameter × 29cm.

Insecticide treatment

  • Supplied pre-treated with permethrin by the manufacturer. The treatment is applied at the factory — there is nothing for you to spray or apply.
  • The permethrin is bonded into the fabric rather than coated onto the surface, so it does not leach out. It is odourless once dry and invisible in the netting.
  • The treatment is an added layer alongside the physical barrier of the net itself, which protects you when it is properly sized, hung and sealed. No insect protection product can guarantee complete protection from bites. For exposed skin, use a repellent registered for skin application.
  • If you would like the full treatment specification before ordering, please contact us.

Setting it up

Join the fibreglass rod together and slide it into the top sleeve. Select the longest black nylon cord, thread it through both loops on the net and knot the cord together. Use the hook and line supplied to create a single suspension point from a wall or ceiling.

Care

Hand wash as required in cold water using minimal detergent, and store the net in its carry bag in a dry place away from direct sunlight. Do not dry clean — dry cleaning removes the active ingredient. Do not re-treat this net with permethrin sprays or other permethrin-based products.

Designed for travel and shipped across Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific.

Frequently asked questions

What size bed does the double WedgeNet fit?
It fits mattresses and beds up to 220cm wide by 220cm long, which covers a queen mattress comfortably. It is our largest wedge net and is roomy enough for two people.

What makes it good for travel?
It packs to 11cm across by 29cm in its stuff bag, weighs about 450g, and hangs from a single point — a wall, a door or window frame, or the ceiling — so it works in hotels, hostels, tents and spare rooms alike. It sets up in seconds with the included cord and hook.

Where can I hang it?
Almost anywhere. The wedge shape needs just one suspension point, so you can hang it from a wall hook, a door or window frame, or the ceiling. Carrying a little extra cord and a few wall hooks makes it even more versatile.

What is it made of?
A fine, high-ventilation white polyester mesh with 156 holes per square inch in a 40D yarn, with double-reinforced stitching on every seam. It's white because dark colours attract mosquitoes.

How do I set it up?
Join the fibreglass rod together and slide it into the top sleeve. Select the longest black nylon cord, thread it through both loops on the net and knot the cord together. Use the hook and line supplied to create a single suspension point from a wall or ceiling.

Is it treated with insecticide?
Yes. It is supplied pre-treated with permethrin by the manufacturer. The treatment is applied at the factory, so there is nothing for you to spray or apply, and it is odourless once dry.

Does the treatment wash out?
The permethrin is bonded into the fabric rather than coated onto the surface, so it does not leach out in normal use. Hand wash in cold water with minimal detergent, and do not dry clean.

Can I re-treat the net myself?
No. This net is already treated at the factory and should not be re-treated with permethrin sprays or other permethrin-based products. If you would prefer a net you can treat yourself, choose the untreated double WedgeNet instead.

How do I wash and store it?
Hand wash as required in cold water using minimal detergent. Do not dry clean. Store the net in its carry bag in a dry place away from direct sunlight.

Can I use it outdoors?
Yes. The 12cm reinforced hem tucks under a mattress indoors, and the pegging eyelets let you peg the hem down when you are sleeping outside or in a tent.

Treated or untreated — which should I choose?
This is the treated version, supplied pre-treated with permethrin. If you would prefer no chemical treatment at all, see the untreated double WedgeNet, which is identical in every other respect.
