Essential Box Mosquito Net — King & Queen
Our most affordable box mosquito net, generously sized to cover a King or Queen bed. It is a simple rectangular canopy in sheer white polyester with two openings, and it hangs straight from the ceiling or ties onto a four-poster frame.
This is the entry point to our box net range. It gives you 100% insect protection when properly sized, hung and sealed, in a net light enough to fold into the included nylon stuff bag and take with you. There is no cotton, no frame kit and no trim — just a lot of well-made netting at the lowest price we offer on a box net.

Our nets are made larger than the mattress on purpose, so the netting covers the mattress and the bed frame and can be sealed underneath for complete insect protection.
Installation
This net can be hung directly from the ceiling using the four hooks and line supplied, or tied onto an existing four-poster bed or canopy frame using the 12 pairs of sewn-in ceiling ties.
We recommend the use of toggle hooks for plaster ceilings or cup hooks for wooden ceilings. Purchase these from your local hardware store or follow this link to our hanging kits.
Fabric and Colour
Sheer white multi-filament polyester with 360 holes per square inch. Available in white only. The netting carries no insecticide, repellent or chemical treatment of any kind.
Care
Cold machine wash on a delicate cycle, or dry clean. Do not tumble dry. Polyester does not shrink.

Frequently Asked Questions
What size bed does the Essential Box mosquito net fit?
It is one net that fits both King and Queen beds. The net measures 200cm wide by 220cm long by 240cm high, which is deliberately larger than the mattress so the netting falls past the bed frame and can be sealed underneath. On a Queen bed you simply have more overlap to tuck in.
How is this different from your Deluxe Polyester box net?
The Essential net is a single generously-sized net that covers both King and Queen beds, with a plain hem and no size-specific tailoring. The Deluxe Polyester box nets are cut to each individual bed size, including Super King, and are finished with a 25mm microfibre hem band. The netting itself is the same 360 holes per square inch in both. Choose Essential for the lowest price and for travel; choose Deluxe for a net tailored to your exact bed size and a more finished look in a permanent bedroom.
Does it need a frame, or does it hang from the ceiling?
It can do either. Four hooks and line are supplied so you can hang it directly from a wooden ceiling, and 12 pairs of 20cm ceiling ties are sewn in so it can instead be tied onto an existing four-poster bed or canopy frame. For a plaster ceiling we recommend toggle hooks rather than the supplied hooks.
How many openings does it have?
Two, one on each side, each with a 75cm overlap. The overlap is what keeps the opening closed behind you, so mosquitoes cannot follow you in when you get into bed.
Will it fit a Super King bed?
No. At 200cm wide it will not cover a Super King mattress with enough overhang to seal properly. For a Super King bed you need our Deluxe Polyester Box Mosquito Net in Super King, which is made to 230cm by 250cm.
Is the netting treated with insecticide?
No. This net is completely chemical-free. There is no permethrin, no insecticide and no repellent finish on the fabric, so it is safe to sleep under night after night and safe around children and pets. It works purely as a physical barrier.
What is the netting made from and can you see through it?
It is woven multi-filament polyester with 360 holes per square inch. That makes it sheer, so you can see out of it clearly and it does not darken the room, while still being fine enough to exclude mosquitoes.
Is it suitable for travel?
Yes. It weighs 500 grams and comes with a tough nylon stuff bag, so it packs down small enough for a backpack or a suitcase. The supplied hooks and line let you rig it in accommodation where there is nothing to tie onto.
How do I wash it?
Cold machine wash on a delicate cycle, or dry clean. Do not tumble dry. Polyester does not shrink, so the net will keep its size and shape through washing.
What colour is it available in?
White only. Polyester netting is not dyed in our range, so white is the only colour this net is made in.

King/Queen Budget mozzy net
We have two now. A lot of room and easy set up. I made a frame of bamboo with wire corners to suspend it under. Love the vertical walls giving space and ease of entry. Getting the height right is important to not stand on the skirt. Elastic hoops is a good idea to extend the provided ties, it gives a little if they're tugged. Thank you very much. NO more BUZZ worries.

Ideal for my purposes, keeps the mosquitos out, but unfortunately not the possums. Thus I need to replace the net annually.

The net itself is great. Good quality and fits over my queen bed well. Only issue was with the delivery which took 2 weeks, even when I am in the same state as factory. Of course this could be blamed on COVID, but I feel at this stage that is just an excuse as we are now almost two years into this thing. Besides that very happy. Would recommend. Hello Rob. As I am sure you are aware, at the time of your order Sydney was in the peak of the pandemic and delays were being experienced by everyone whose parcels were either shipped from Sydney or were processed in Sydney. The Warehouse that stores and ships our nets is based in the Western Suburbs of Sydney. At the height of the recent outbreak, high case numbers and lockdowns meant the Warehouse was operating with very limited staff. Once our orders were shipped they then fell in the hands of Australia Post, which was also affected by record amounts of parcels being shipped with also minimal staff. Thankfully we are all learning to live with Covid19.

Only criticism would be a little larger cross over so irradicate any gaps as we do not want to tuck in due to body parts touching net and therefore being available for mossies to attack.... However as this is a budget net, it does not have a hem to encourage the openings to close without help.
