Description

Cotton Mosquito Net — Fits All Beds (Single to King)

The most versatile net we make — a quality cotton mosquito net designed to cover every bed from Single through to King, plus daybeds. A modular PVC frame forms a neat square ceiling, and the whole net hangs from a single point in the ceiling, with excess netting simply gathered for smaller beds. Simple, effective protection that suits almost any bedroom.

Designed, made and supplied by us — Australian owned and operated, with over 30 years as mosquito net specialists.

Features

  • Fits every bed from Single to King, plus daybeds — one net for all, with excess netting gathered for smaller beds.
  • Three openings, for easy access and a generous range of display options.
  • Hangs from a single point in the ceiling — a modular PVC frame forms the square ceiling, so there's nothing to build.
  • 280cm of netting drapes to the floor, with generous overlaps for protection over any bed.
  • Decorative pleated cotton fabric ceiling.
  • Hemmed with a 25mm band, so the doors fall closed and insects are kept out when it's properly hung.
  • Quality cotton netting, 256 holes per square inch — real mosquito netting, not muslin.
  • Natural warm-white cotton with a run-proof weave; lasts for years with proper care.
  • Chemical-free — no insecticide and no flame-retardant treatment.

Fabric & colour

  • Natural warm-white cotton with a run-proof weave.
  • 256 holes per square inch — real mosquito netting, not muslin.
  • We supply natural white only, as colour preferences vary. The cotton dyes easily — the simplest method we've found is washing machine dye, using warm water only (slight shrinkage of around 5% may occur if very hot water is used).
  • As with any new bedding, we suggest washing the net before use to remove any loose threads or lint.

Hanging

    • One point to the ceiling — the modular PVC frame forms the square ceiling; no separate frame to build.

We recommend the use of a toggle hook for plaster ceilings and a cup hook for wooden ceilings. Purchase these from your local hardware store or follow this link to our hanging kits.

Care

  • Cold machine wash on a delicate cycle, cold hand wash, or dry clean. Line dry. Do not tumble dry. Warm iron if desired.
  • Cotton netting is woven and stretches and shrinks a little when washed — reshape it by pulling gently while still damp. Cold water may reduce the height by about 5%, and hot water by 10% or more, so wash cold.

Shipped across Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific.

Frequently asked questions

What beds does this net fit?
It's our most versatile net — it fits every bed from Single through to King, plus daybeds. For smaller beds the excess netting is simply gathered.

How can one net fit every bed size?
Because it hangs from a single point and drapes 280cm to the floor, the netting is cut generously enough to fall clear of the largest bed we cover. On a smaller bed you simply have more netting to gather or tuck in. With mosquito netting, bigger is always safer than smaller — a net that is too small cannot be sealed.

Does it need a frame?
No separate frame to build — a modular PVC frame is included and forms the square ceiling, and the whole net hangs from a single point in the ceiling.

How many openings does it have?
Three — which gives easy access from more than one side, as well as a generous range of display options.

What is it made of?
Quality cotton netting with 256 holes per square inch — real mosquito netting, not muslin — in a natural warm white, with a decorative pleated cotton fabric ceiling. Looked after properly, it lasts for years.

What colour is it, and can I dye it?
We supply natural white only, as colour preferences vary. The cotton dyes easily; the simplest method we've found is washing machine dye, using warm water only (slight shrinkage of around 5% may occur if very hot water is used).

How do I hang it?
From a single point in the ceiling. We recommend a toggle hook for plaster ceilings or a cup hook for timber ceilings, available from your local hardware store or from our one-point hanging kit. You need one hook, not four — this net is not a box net.

Does it keep insects out?
Yes — it's fully hemmed with generous overlaps and drapes to the floor, so the doors fall closed and insects are kept out when it's hung and tucked in properly.

Does cotton help with midges and sandflies?
Over more than thirty years our customers have told us that sleeping under cotton netting brings far fewer bites from midges and sandflies than they expect. We offer that as our experience and customer feedback rather than as established fact. What we can state plainly is that the mesh is 256 holes per square inch and excludes mosquitoes when the net is properly sized, hung and sealed.

Is it treated with chemicals?
No — our cotton nets carry no chemical treatment. There is no insecticide and no flame-retardant chemical in the fabric; it is simply natural cotton netting.

How do I wash it?
Cold machine wash on a delicate cycle, cold hand wash or dry clean; line dry and don't tumble dry (warm iron if you like). Reshape by pulling gently while damp. Cold water may reduce the height about 5%, hot water 10% or more — so wash cold.

Would you rather a see-through net?
This is the natural cotton version. For a sheer, see-through option that also fits every bed from Single to King, see our polyester mosquito net.

Do you ship across Australia and New Zealand?
Yes. We are an Australian business based at Lillian Rock in the Northern Rivers of NSW, and we ship throughout Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific.

This net does the job , I’ve not been bitten since it arrived some days ago. I can hear those dam mozzies sometimes stalking me from outside the net. It’s easy to put up and looks pretty. Happy to have a natural material instead of synthetic!

GORGEOUS, functional & better than expected!

Posted by Paula on 21st Jun 2024

My package arrived and there was a problem with it. I contacted the company and I was so impressed with the after sales service and the way everything was handled. They couldn't have been more understanding, helpful and very professional. I NEVER leave reviews however, I couldn't ignore the amazing people behind this business. Hats off to you for fantastic assistance and friendly service. The item is just beautiful and so much better than I expected. The quality is obvious the minute you unpack it and I am so happy with my Temple net, it looks gorgeous in my room. I am leaving it up all year round as I can now sleep peacefully without the hazards of mosquito's biting me! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!

    Lovely

Pretty mozzie net and generous in the amount of netting. Quite thick netting, so not as transparent as some. Had a problem with the plastic elbows which was promptly rectified by the supplier. Thank you.

    Elegant mosquito net

Posted by Tammy on 2nd Dec 2017

Lovely elegant cotton mosquito net. It is very generous in size and has a great textured weave. Do take care when assembling it. The plastic elbows are very fragile and shatter very easily. Dear Tammy, we have sent replacement elbows and are very sorry that this has happened. It was a fault in a component which has now been fixed. Regards Frank

    Eaten no more

Posted by Cheryl on 7th Sep 2015

The order was quick and easy. It is a lovely cotton fabric with generous length to make sure no bugs can get to you. The best part is the mosquito's can't eat you anymore. It looks as good as you can, with this temple hanging over the bed. I thought they could have at least supplied a hook, but I guess different people would want different sizes and colours. The best part is the mosquito's can't eat you any more.
