Australia's home of pure cotton mosquito nets

For a natural mosquito net bed canopy in genuine 100% cotton, you're in the right place. We are the world's only manufacturer of 100% cotton mosquito net bed canopies — our cotton nets are woven solely from pure cotton thread, netting and hem alike — and we've designed and supplied them from Australia since 1995.

Our exclusive run-proof weave

Every cotton net is made on our own run-proof weave: a tighter, stronger construction that gives the netting its soft, slightly chequered texture and stops it laddering or running if it's ever snagged. It's what makes our cotton nets hard-wearing, long-lasting and machine washable rather than hand-wash only. With reasonable care, a cotton net lasts around ten years.

Protection and presence

A cotton canopy does two jobs at once. When it's correctly sized, hung and sealed so the netting drapes closed to the floor, it keeps mosquitoes and other insects out — and with its slightly opaque, chequered netting it has real presence over a bed, a proper bed canopy rather than a flimsy net. The edges are fully hemmed and finished with a fabric band so they hold their shape. Cotton netting is a natural woven fabric and will shrink a little if it's washed warm or hot, so always wash cold and never tumble dry — see the FAQ below for care.

Cotton Mosquito Net FAQ

Are your cotton mosquito nets 100% cotton?

Yes — our cotton nets are 100% pure cotton. We are the world's only manufacturer of 100% cotton mosquito net bed canopies: the netting, hem and fabric band are all woven from pure cotton thread. We start with the raw cotton thread and weave our own netting before sewing each net, using an exclusive run-proof weave that gives the netting its slightly chequered look and stops it laddering if it is ever snagged.

Why do cotton mosquito nets cost more than polyester ones?

Cotton is a natural fibre and a more expensive raw material than synthetic polyester, and our cotton netting is made on an exclusive run-proof weave rather than mass-produced. You are paying for a genuine natural-fibre bed canopy with real presence over the bed — built to last around ten years with proper care, not a disposable season net. Polyester is our lighter, sheerer and more affordable option; cotton is the choice when you want a natural fabric, a substantial bed-canopy look and long life.

What sizes and shapes do your cotton mosquito nets come in?

Our cotton range covers every standard Australian bed size in three shapes. In the box shape — a four-poster canopy with four openings — we make Single, Double, Queen, King and Super King. In the round shape our multi-size designs mean one net covers Queen, King and daybeds, and another covers Single and Double. We also make a cotton Temple canopy that fits almost any bed from cots to kings. The Single size also comfortably covers King Single beds. And if you want cotton netting by the metre rather than a finished net, we sell that too.

Are cotton mosquito nets suitable for hot, humid or tropical climates?

Yes — cotton is a strong choice for the tropics and humid coastal areas, which is why so many customers in northern and coastal Australia, and resorts across the Pacific, choose it. Natural cotton breathes, so air moves through the netting instead of trapping heat around the bed, and it copes well with humidity. For the finer biting insects common in those areas, many cotton customers tell us they notice a real difference too — based on our thirty years of experience and customer feedback rather than laboratory testing.

Are your cotton mosquito nets treated with insecticide or any chemicals?

No. Our cotton nets are completely untreated — no insecticide, no permethrin and no chemical finish of any kind. They protect purely as a physical barrier: when a net is correctly sized, hung and sealed so the netting drapes closed to the floor, insects simply can't get through. If you specifically need a treated net for an area with a real mosquito-borne disease risk, we stock long-lasting treated nets made by another manufacturer and approved for sale in Australia — but everything in our own cotton range is chemical-free.

Are cotton mosquito nets a good choice for allergies or sensitive skin?

Cotton is a natural, breathable fibre with no chemical treatment, which many people prefer for bedrooms, children's rooms and sensitive skin — there's no insecticide or synthetic finish on it. We can't make medical claims, and anyone with specific allergies should check their own needs, but a plain, untreated natural-cotton canopy is about as simple and natural as a bed net gets.

Do cotton mosquito nets fade, mould or perish over time?

Kept dry, no. Natural white cotton holds its colour well away from harsh direct sun, and because the netting is woven to breathe it dries quickly rather than staying damp and going musty. Air it if it has been packed away, keep it dry between washes, and store it somewhere ventilated. Cotton is a robust natural fibre — treated this way it stays sound and good-looking for years rather than perishing like a thin synthetic net.

Do cotton mosquito nets work as a decorative bed canopy, not just insect protection?

Yes — that's exactly what they're designed to be. A cotton net has real presence over a bed: the netting is slightly opaque with a soft chequered texture from the run-proof weave, so it reads as a proper bed canopy rather than a flimsy mosquito net. Hung from the ceiling or dressed over a four-poster frame, it turns the bed into the centrepiece of the room while still doing its job every night — protection and good looks aren't a trade-off, they're the same design. We're an Australian business that has designed and made quality bed canopies since 1995.
